A long line of recruits is ready to join the Helldivers in the fight for Democracy. Unfortunately, there seem to be a few issues with pre-order and edition-specific bonuses. I had the problem myself, so here’s how to claim the pre-order bonus in Helldivers 2.
How to unlock the pre-order and Super Citizen bonus in Helldivers 2
Before we dive into troubleshooting, let me explain how everything should work regarding pre-order and Super Citizen Edition bonuses. Before accessing any of your customizations, you must complete the tutorial.
Once you’ve donned the cape and named your ship, you can access the Armory on the bridge (pictured above). All of your available gear should show up here, including edition specifics.
What can I do if my bonuses aren’t available?
I went to the War table and started a mission before quitting via the pause menu. I interacted with the Ship Management screens (pictured above) and restarted Helldivers 2. Once I logged back into Helldivers 2, everything was available in the Armory, although there wasn’t any pop-up or message to say so.Â
I’ve read several solutions on social media, but these seem to have mixed results. Players have reported that resetting the game a few times has worked for them. Others say they needed to complete a mission from the War Table before their items were unlocked.
I have also read reports from players who have deleted their saved data to solve the problem, but it hasn’t worked. Needless to say, use this as a last resort, but I don’t recommend it unless official correspondence says so.
If all else fails, I recommend waiting for a response from the developers. I know it’s not the answer you want to hear, but the issue is widespread enough that the relevant parties are aware.
