Monopoly GO, despite being a flashy mobile adaptation, does take a staggering amount of features from its board game counterpart. Namely, the color sets and houses and hotels. It has been adapted to fit the gameplay of the mobile game, but it’s still there.
Completing a color set will grant you with a great reward, and thankfully, you won’t have to work too hard to accomplish this.
Getting houses in Monopoly GO
To complete a color set in Monopoly GO, like the board game, you need to collect green houses. These green houses are gained whenever you upgrade an attraction, and are randomly allocated spots when you return to the board. Like in the board game, once five green houses has been placed on a property, they’ll combine into a hotel.
Each house and hotel on a property increase the property’s renting value, meaning players will pay more if you catch them on a property. Also, the higher the color set, the more valuable the properties are. So a hotel on Old Kent Road isn’t as valuable as a hotel on Mayfair!
Each property is also divided into colours, making color sets of two or three properties. Once hotels have been placed on all properties of a color, then it is full, and awaiting to reward you!
Again, this is a randomised process, so you cannot personally complete color sets through your own agency. Just build more attractions, and you’ll get to complete them in no time.

Spinning the wheel in Monopoly GO
When you land on a property that is part of a fully-hotelled color set in Monopoly GO, you’ll get to spin the Color Set Wheel. This wheel can grant you all manner or rewards, from vaults, to sticker packs, to dice, and more!
When you have spun the wheel, the hotels will be removed, and that color set will restart empty, waiting for more green houses!
There is an event that allows you to spin the wheel twice, earning you more rewards! It randomly appears at any time for a very limited time, so make sure to keep an eye out to catch it before it goes away! There is the potential for a lot of rewards if you’re lucky enough.
