Hit the ‘Select’ button on your PlayStation controller to look at your menu. If you need to know how to equip these Abilities in Final Fantasy 16, head to the Gear and Eikons screen. On the left, you can equip different Weapons, Accessories, Belts, and Vambraces. But on the right, you’ll be able to switch out your preferred Eikon Abilities. You’ll have one main Eikon Ability, and two other slots for secondary Abilities to use during combat.

But how do you unlock new Eikon Abilities? It won’t take long before you’ve earned a few Ability Points in your Abilities skill tree. After you complete a few rounds of combat, Clive will rack up Ability Points to spend on new attacks. To the right of the Gear and Eikons screen is your Abilities screen. The main circle are the Abilities you can’t equip, and just become new skills. Above that are your Phoenix Abilities.

If you think the Ability tree looks barren now, we reckon that the further you play, the more skills and Eikon Abilities you’ll be able to unlock. By the start of the game though, you only have a few to purchase. These are powerful Eikon attacks that do much more damage than your usual sword swipes. You can even upgrade your Eikon Abilities with further Ability Points, making them even stronger.
