WoW Classic Season of Discovery has a ton of content for players to explore, including the new Runes for each class. Shamans, in particular, are venturing out into the wild looking for these Desert Mirages, which we’re going to run over now.
WoW Classic SoD: How to find Desert Mirages
Season of Discovery has been a blast thus far for World of Warcraft players, as they’re getting to experience new content in Vanilla WoW for the first time in 20 years, and this has all been thanks to the new Rune mechanic.
Players will need to complete quests to obtain new abilities, and Shamans will need to hunt these Desert Mirages down to earn the Way of Earth Rune, which turns your Enhancement Shaman into a tank.
This is due to the 50% more threat you’ll gain when using this Rune, alongside the increased health, damage, and the 600% reduced critical hit chance by enemies.
So, if you’re in the market to be a tanking Shaman, you’re going to need to find these Desert Mirages, which can be found at the following locations in WoW Classic.
- Just west/left of Ratchet, a city located in the Barons within Kalimdor.

You’ll quickly notice the location of these Mirages, as there’s going to be a ton of other Shaman players here trying to farm these as well. Once you have found them, simply kill them, and you should be able to turn the quest in after a little while.
This Way of Earth Rune is going to be extremely sought after in Season of Discovery if you want to try out the new tanking role in WoW, which is definitely a change in playstyle for the class.
Be patient when heading over to this location, as there’s more than likely going to be a circle of players around the spawn of these mobs, so try and get the first hit off right away!
