How to find the Gobfin Location in Palworld

Yeah, that's one ugly duckling

Gobfin is the 31st Pal in the Paldeck and is an aggressive Water-type that packs quite a punch! While not the cutest Pal in the game, you’ll need Gobfin to complete your collection. If you’ve not seen one yet, here’s how to find the Gobfin location in Palworld:

You will find Gobfin north of the Tower of the Rayne Syndicate. While I haven’t unlocked the entire map, you should be able to follow the image above to the highlighted location. The rocky red area on the map is to the northwest of the starting area. Hypocrite Hill is the closest Fast Travel tower, but it’s pretty easy to get there, even without a mount. As cliffs are nearby, I recommend bringing a Glider, but it’s optional.

The only issue you may have is your character level and gear. Most Gobfin I’ve found are around Level 22, and I wouldn’t advise trying to catch them until you’re at least that level. I first encountered Gobfin with my level 15 Character and the best armor I could craft at the time. The Gobfin almost killed me, and the local wildlife made sure I lost my gear while trying to flee.

Gobfin are aggressive and will attack on sight, but you can bring a decent Electric Pal to make short work of your new aquatic friends. Palworld’s early game is a little light on Electric types, but Jolthog and Sparkit are great choices you can find near the starting area. Unless you have good armor and a shield, I recommend keeping your distance and attacking at range with a Triple Shot Bow or Crossbow. If your Pal is at least level 20, it will make short work of Gobfin while you focus on staying safe.

Are Gobfin good Pals in Palworld?

If you don’t have a decent water-type Pal, then Gobfin is an excellent choice. Water Pals can usually take care of watering duties around the base. Even if you don’t need them, the Paldeck entry is worth getting, and remember, Water Pals typically drop Pal Fluids when defeated.
