The aspect that drives Helldivers 2 and makes goes viral is the community-based gameplay. Everything that’s going on in the co-op shooter adjusts based on what the players are doing. However, problems come up when the community can’t interact with one another.
This can be pointed to the social tab not showing up. Luckily, there are a few fixes on how to deal with the social tab not working in Helldivers 2.Â
Helldivers 2: How to fix the social tab
Much like the friend request bug, the social tab not working can make managing democracy less fun. Because we all know Helldivers 2 is better with friends. You’ll know the social tab isn’t working if your friends are online on Steam or the PS5, but they appear offline.
In some cases, your friends might not show up at all. There are a few fixes you can run through to get you back into finishing the Terminid Control System mission.Â
Ways to get the social tab working again
First and foremost if you’re in Helldivers 2 and there’s an update that just dropped, this could be the root issue for you. If it is, leave and shut down the game completely. Update Helldivers 2 and head back into the shooter. This could be the only method you need.
If your social tab isn’t back after that, try toggling cross-play on or off. To find this switch, navigate the Options menu while on your ship. Look for Gameplay, and within that sub-menu, cross-play will be the second setting to adjust.
Finally, you can manually search for your friends via a friend code. To do this go into your social tab and in the first bar, enter in the code that your friend gives you. Once you input, they should show up on your friend’s list.
If you can’t find the place to enter the code or to find yours, head back into the Gameplay in the settings menu and turn on cross-play. When that’s done, go back into the social tab, and those options should appear now. You can use the image below to see what should be appearing in that menu.Â
