How to Get a Dragon Scale in Granblue Fantasy Relink

Need a Dragon Scale to uncap your weapon level?

Once you reach the postgame of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, upgrade materials become much harder to find. If you want to uncap your weapon level from 75 to 100, you’ll need a Dragon Scale in addition to other rare materials. Where exactly do you get a Dragon Scale, though?

If you’re trying to upgrade your character as quickly as possible, you’re going to hit roadblocks quite often in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. The Dragon Scale is the first major roadblock in Relink’s endgame since you’ll need to unlock a new difficulty tier before you even have a chance to obtain it. The mission you’re seeking comes sooner rather than later, however, so there isn’t too much grinding in your future.

Dragon Scales are obtained by completing the Wings of Antiquity mission, which pits you and your allies against an Ancient Dragon at Halewind Altar. This is a Very Hard quest, so you won’t be able to start it until you unlock that difficulty.

After the credits in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you’ll be asked to “finish the jobs Rolan started.” Initially, you’ll only get access to Hard difficulty quests. After completing every Hard quest marked with a diamond icon, you’ll unlock a rank-up quest that will give you access to Very Hard missions upon completion. Wings of Antiquity is the rank-up quest.

After unlocking Very Hard difficulty in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you’ll find even more of Rolan’s jobs that need to be completed. There are a bunch of other optional quests that reward rare upgrade materials, however, and you should take some time to complete them. Wings of Antiquity, for example, can be repeated as many times as you want to stock up on Dragon Scales to uncap weapon levels for your entire team.

As a rule of thumb, if you need an upgrade material that is seemingly impossible to obtain when playing Granblue Fantasy: Relink, then you just need to continue playing and unlock new quests. Thankfully, there aren’t many difficulty levels left after you unlock Very Hard. The grind gets a lot longer though, so make sure you stock up on the best gear and equip your characters with the best Sigils.
