How to make animal head trophies in Sons of the Forest

Creating trophies of animals’ heads you’ve killed is super easy to do. There are a few steps involved, but basically you need to cut off the animal’s head, craft a mount, and then place the head on it. We’ll detail exactly how you do this.

First off, you need the animal. Whether it’s a rabbit or a deer, you can take their head and display it. Once I skinned the animal of its meat, a button prompt showed up with a trophy icon. Interact with it, and you’ll cut the head clean off.

Take the head back to wherever you want to display it. You can’t just outright place it somewhere, you’ll need to place it on something. Specifically, you can craft a Head Trophy Mount. You’ll find this crafting recipe in the furniture section of your Guide Book.

All it takes it one stick to craft. You can place this on most surfaces, I personally placed it on a standing log. Once set, give it the stick it needs, and it’s done. The final piece of the puzzle is simply attaching the animal head to the mount.

Interact with the Head Trophy Mount, then your character will pull out their selection of animal heads. Although the rabbit head is tiny, it’s still worthy of displaying. Once I selected it, the head displays nicely on my log. Hopefully the cannibals become frightened of me, since they now know I have the strength to defeat a mangy rabbit.
