Fortnite Winterfest 2023: How to get free skins

Every year during Winterfest, Epic Games releases two free skins in Fortnite. In 2023, we are getting two skins and they are called Winterfest Bushranger and Holiday Boxy.

The only way to permanently unlock the Winterfest Bushranger and Holiday Boxy skins is to log into Fortnite and scroll to the Quest tab. Here, you’ll see an Express Gift page which is where you open your gift. I’m really disappointed because this is such a major downgrade to Crackshot’s Cabin, which we got in years past, but free skins are free skins.

When Does Fortnite Winterfest 2023 end?

There are 14 gifts in total available through Fortnite Winterfest 2023 and the event lasts until January 2, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. ET. It’s okay if you don’t log onto Fortnite every day because the gifts stack. That’s right, if you wait 14 days, you can then jump into Fortnite and open every single gift Winterfest 2023 has to offer you, which is skins, gliders, lobby tracks that double as jam tracks in Fortnite Festival, and much more.

The gift you get when you open your present is always random, so you may not get the two free Winterfest 2023 skins at first. If you don’t have any gifts stacked up, you’ll need to wait 24 hours for your next gift.

Don’t worry, as long as you get on Fortnite before January 2, 2024, you can redeem all 14 gifts in Fortnite and, eventually, you’ll get the Winterfest Bushranger and Holiday Boxy skins, both of which I think are really cool.

What’s also really cool is both the Winterfest Bushranger and Holiday Boxy skins double as LEGO Fortnite skins. If you haven’t tried the new LEGO Fortnite mode yet, I encourage you to go check it out and learn cool things like how to make a livestock farm.
