In Content Warning, MetaCoins are the new currency that you’ll earn to purchase new hats and island upgrades. But earning them isn’t easy.
Earning MetaCoins in Content Warning
MetaCoins are the currency favored by your sponsors in Content Warning. But to get sponsorships to start earning MetaCoins, you’ll need to prove you’re worth it.
You will have to meet the first quota of 3K views to pass the first week. Upon entering your second week, you’ll earn 50 MetaCoins off the bat. The rest is up to you to earn, however.
You’ll be able to see your new currency above your dollars, and to earn more, you’ll need to accept sponsorships.
MetaCoins will stay in your balance even after you fail and reset, allowing you to earn them between runs.
Accepting Sponsorships in Content Warning
Sponsorships will unlock after you’ve met your first quota and completed your first week. You’ll notice another door has opened up at the foot of the stairs, where you’ll see three monitors, each showing you a brand deal.
These sponsorships will have a difficulty, with harder sponsors providing you with more MetaCoins should you complete them. You will only get to take one sponsor per week, so be confident that you can complete the one you’ve chosen. If you fail it, you won’t get to pick another.
Upon completion of the sponsor deal, you’ll immediately earn your MetaCoins, and you can spend them how you wish.
Do note that the sponsorships may have a stipulation, such as not filming dead bodies, which will be an instant fail if you do. Most will give you a new toy or emote to play with, however, which makes it completely worth the risk and rules.
Spending MetaCoins in Content Warning
Congratulations! You’ve completed some brand deals and have enough MetaCoins to spend.
With MetaCoins, you can buy hats and island upgrades.
You’ll find island upgrades as wooden signs scattered around the island. There are five:
- Green Screen – 300 MC
- Cinema – 600 MC
- Trampoline – 900 MC
- Podcast Booth – 1200 MC
- Swimming Pool – 1500 MC
Also, you can buy hats, which will be permanently bound to your character. After purchase, you can select to wear the hat in the same screen you use to customise your face. There are currently five hats, and they’re all great.
As MetaCoins will always stay in your account, you can slowly earn them and build up your island between runs. Now get out there and film something spooky.
