Silver, thankfully, isn’t too hard to find, although getting it is a little tricky.

Finding Silver in Return to Moria

In Return to Moria, silver is an ore like any other. It can be found in veins even in the Mines of Moria, although it is more plentiful in the Lower Deeps, the next area of your journey. Silver, however, isn’t found in walls of stone, but walls of Ihraz Granite. This granite cannot be mined by your tier two steel pickaxe, but a stronger one.

Even though you need silver whilst you’re still in the Mines of Moria, you’ll have to venture into the next area, the Lower Deeps, to get your hands on the Ubasam wood to create the pickaxe needed to mine it. So you can almost ignore the silver veins in the Mines of Moria, although it would be wise to mark them for future reference.

It is processed the same as any other ore, so once you’ve found some, wherever you are, simply mine it and bring it back to your base.

Crafting a Tier 3 Pickaxe in Return to Moria

The Tier 3 Pickaxe, named the First Age Pickaxe, requires some pretty expensive gear, namely the Black Diamond and the Gem Cutter building.

All you need is one Black Diamond, which you can get from Orc and goblin drops during a horde attack or from Orc Chests in Orc Town. If you don’t feel equipped enough to take on the whole Orc Town, you can only focus on opening one Orc Chest to liberate the couple Black Diamonds you will find before you high tail out of there.

With the black diamond, you can construct the First Age Pickaxe. You’ll need 3 Steel Ingots, 1 Black Diamond, 4 Ubasam Wood, and the Gem Cutter to be built in your Hearth’s area.

To build the Gem Cutter, you only need 10 Stone, 10 Ubasam Wood, and 3 Steel, so is very inexpensive. build this anywhere you want.

I hope this has helped, fellow Dwarf. For more Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria help, look no further than PC Invasion.
