How to unlock the Explorer Archetype in Remnant 2

How to get the Remnant 2 Explorer Archetype

Unlock the secrets of Remnant 2.

Buildcrafting is a huge component of Remnant 2. The multitude of hidden secrets within the game award so many little items that can adjust your build. Tweaking one element over another can turn you from a bullet sponge to a walking arsenal in seconds. However, arguably the most important element of your Remnant 2 build is your Archetype. These are either available from the start, in Ward 13, or have to be found within the game itself. The Explorer Archetype must be searched for in Remnant 2 before you can unlock and use it on your build; here’s how to do it.

Unlike a lot of the harder-to-find Archetypes in Remnant 2, this one is actually surprisingly simple, in method anyway. You don’t have to equip a million specific items, sacrifice a goat under a blood moon, and sing the star-spangled banner backward as you do for the Archon Archetype. Simply beat the final boss once to receive the requirements for the Explorer Archetype in Remnant 2.

Once you have beaten the final boss on any difficulty, you will receive the Broken Compass. As with all Archetyoe unlocks, you need to bring this to Wallace in Ward 13. He will then turn it into a Golden Compass for one Broken Compass, 10 Lumenite Crystals, and 1000 Scrap.

Where the Explorer Archetype really excels in Remnant 2 is pickups. With the skills imbued in the character, pickups become greater. With the Treasure Hunter skill, the Explorer is able to detect hidden items around the map much easier. This makes the Explorer the perfect main or second archetype to equip for your second playthrough. Finding all those hidden items has never been easier.

Many of the items in Remnant 2 are incredibly hard to find unless you know exactly where to look. However, equipping the Explorer Archetype will make your search quicker. The Engineer Archetype is a prime example of when you will need the Treasure Hunter skill as it is hidden outside the map in fog.
