Players can purchase the first legendary weapon, The Ripper, from a vending machine in Grace’s Hideout. Follow the steps below to unlock its availability.

  1. After reaching the SoLA DLC campaign and fast-traveling to the destination of the waypoint, a quest called “Bad Vibrations” will unlock.
  2. Go to the waypoint for Bad Vibrations, leading to Grace’s hideout.
  3. Defeat the Whipper zombie that appears when approaching the hideout.
  4. After defeating the Whipper Zombie, interact with the vending machine in the basement of Grace’s Hideout to purchase The Ripper.

The Ripper will cost you 33,000 cash, a hefty price but worth it. In the following section, let’s go over why The Ripper is such a great weapon.

The Ripper mods and perks

The Ripper is a powerful melee weapon in Dead Island 2, fully equipped with mods and perks. The Ripper has the following characteristics:

  • Superior Melee Punctuator Mod: Converts weapon to inflict bleed damage and boosts major damage. Successive hits to zombies also apply the bleeding effect.
  • Empowering Perk: Critical hits and heavy attacks do increased damage.
  • Revolutionary Fixed Perk: Attacks increase your blade’s speed. Heavy attacks and counterattacks increase it most. At full speed, Revolutionary triggers a supercharged state of increased damage.
  • Skilled Fixed Perk: Killing a zombie gives a moderate damage boost to heavy attacks, and they charge up faster.

The second legendary weapon available in Dead Island 2: SoLA is the Sawblade Launcher, a powerful weapon that can slice the limbs of any enemy you encounter. To get the Sawblade Launcher, players must complete the DLC’s story first. There are nine quests for the SoLA DLC, which should take approximately five to six hours.

Sawblade Launcher mods and perks

The Sawblade Launcher offers the player a great way to rip through hordes of enemies, slow down waves by cutting off legs, and deal incredibly high damage overall. This legendary weapon has the following characteristics:

  • Superior Ranged Mutilator Mod: Gives a major physical damage boost. Successive hits to a zombie apply the weakened effect. Hitting a weakened zombie replenishes stamina.
  • Tactical Reload Perk: Killing a zombie gives a moderate boost to reload speed.
  • Threefer Fixed Perk: Fully charge and fire for a powerful shot with increased damage that slices through multiple zombies. Tap fire for a shot that does increased limb damage.
  • Top Up Fixed Perk: When this weapon is stowed, it gradually reloads.
