  1. After reaching the SoLA DLC campaign and fast-traveling to the destination of the waypoint, a quest called “Bad Vibrations” will unlock.
  2. Go to the waypoint for Bad Vibrations, leading to Grace’s hideout.
  3. Defeat the Whipper zombie that appears when approaching the hideout.
  4. After defeating the Whipper Zombie, interact with the vending machine in the basement of Grace’s Hideout to purchase The Ripper.

The Ripper will cost you 33,000 cash, a hefty price but worth it. In the following section, let’s go over why The Ripper is such a great weapon.

The Ripper mods and perks

The Ripper is a powerful melee weapon in Dead Island 2, fully equipped with mods and perks. The Ripper has the following characteristics:

  • Superior Melee Punctuator Mod: Converts weapon to inflict bleed damage and boosts major damage. Successive hits to zombies also apply the bleeding effect.
  • Empowering Perk: Critical hits and heavy attacks do increased damage.
  • Revolutionary Fixed Perk: Attacks increase your blade’s speed. Heavy attacks and counterattacks increase it most. At full speed, Revolutionary triggers a supercharged state of increased damage.
