Baldur’s Gate 3: How to play musical instruments

Baldur’s Gate 3, at first glance, is all about the combat and story players will embark on throughout the game, but there are numerous layers to unpack here, and players are bound to come across some amazing content.

This can include playing some of the musical instruments found within the game, and while you may not be the local bard, you’re still going to be able to play these instruments easily.

To play musical instruments in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’re first going to want to spend at least one point on the Musical Instrument Proficiency, which is available for bards at the onset of the game. Once this is complete, you’re then going to want to equip one of our instruments, which can be one of the following.

  • Flute
  • Hand Drum
  • Lyre
  • Lute
  • Violin

This will get the camp going at night, as there’s bound to be a party for anyone surrounding you. Bards are one of the game’s more unique classes in the sense that they forgo the usual swords, wands, and other weaponry in favor of musical instruments.

While this is just one of the many minor details in Baldur’s Gate 3 that players are naturally going to want to take advantage of, this isn’t to say that it’s not going to be a good time. There’s always some extra dialogue that is going to dispel you from learning how to play an instrument, much like anything within the landscape that Larian has crafted.

In the meantime, head over here to get up to date with all the information you need to know so you can take back Baldur’s Gate.
