The Activation Intel 5: Fungi Forest Tower in FF7 Rebirth caused me some serious frustration. It seems easily accessible at first, but upon closer inspection, you’ll notice it rests on a rock platform you can’t climb. Reaching the Fungi Forest Tower in Gongaga boils down to finding the right mushroom to catapult you and your Chocobo.
Here is how you can find the mushroom that will launch you onto the platform of the Fungi Forest Tower: Start by facing the tower; you will notice a body of water on the right. Cross the body of water to reach a staircase.
Climb the staircase to the second level and take a left, where you will notice a smaller staircase. Take the smaller staircase.
Continue forward until you notice a bridge. Cross the bridge, and you will see the mushroom to your left.
This mushroom will launch you across the body of water you previously swam across and onto the platform of the tower. The image below shows the exact location of the mushroom you need to use to reach the Fungi Forest Tower in Gongaga.
After reaching the tower, you will encounter some enemies you must defeat. They are straightforward, so don’t worry too much about them. All that remains is to climb the rope hanging down from the tower and activate it by interacting with the terminal up top.
