Tears Of The Kingdom Health Points Guide

How to see enemy health points in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

I've got some bad news.

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, enemies have their health displayed just above them in combat. This is already very useful information, but Breath of the Wild veterans are probably wondering something. In the previous game, there was a way to see the exact health points of enemies shown as numbers. But in Tears of the Kingdom, the health points feature is nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately, there’s some bad news on that front.

Tears of the Kingdom: Can you still see enemy health points

The ability to see an enemy’s health points was the effect of the Champion’s Tunic in Breath of the Wild. This was a very handy ability that let you know exactly how tough an enemy would be before you engaged it. Plus, you’d be able to see how effective your current weapon was at dealing damage. This made the Champion’s Tunic one of the best armor choices in the whole game. And it gave some of us a reason to dress Link up in moderately normal outfits.

But now we’re here in Tears of the Kingdom, and it doesn’t look like health points are anywhere to be seen. Even if you’ve managed to acquire the Champion’s Leathers, this mechanic doesn’t show up. It’s a rather puzzling omission on Nintendo’s part since it was such a useful aspect of the Champion’s Tunic. So to see that it isn’t in Tears of the Kingdom is disappointing. Perhaps Nintendo could add it in later on down the road. It’s easy to see the ability being added to existing armor, or perhaps with new outfits in a future DLC. Either way, the fact that it isn’t available now is annoying to be sure.

If this revelation has put you off from equipping the Champion’s Leathers, there’s plenty of other armor to go out and find. Try your luck at finding the Fierce Deity Armor set, or beat slick surfaces with the Froggy armor.
