Super specialties in Star Ocean The Second Story R are things you can unlock by doing a specific action while learning a specialty with a character. When you have two or more characters improve certain specialties, they will learn a super specialty relating to what they have upgraded. This also applies to certain Item Creation (IC) types, too.

To be able to see what specialties you need to be able to unlock a super specialty in Star Ocean The Second Story R, you can actually just press the button that corresponds with the “Super Specialty” option at the bottom of the screen. This will show you every super specialty and allow you to see what specialties you need to increase to be able to get a super specialty.
