How to unlock Golden Armor Plate Schematic in Modern Warfare Zombies (MWZ)

Who needs protection when you have these?

What good is the first season of Modern Warfare 3 if there isn’t anything new to collect? Thankfully, for both the main game and the Zombies mode, there’s stuff for you to go back to.

For Modern Warfare Zombies, you can find a few new schematics. However, it seems like the Gold Armor Plate Schematic is the most lucrative. If you want to get it in Zombies, read on.

Modern Warfare Zombies (MWZ): How to unlock Golden Armor Plate Schematic

To unlock the schematic, it won’t be a walk in the park. Unlike finding Aetherium, you’re going to have to play with more aggression. The first thing to do is to get an Elder Sigil, which is done by doing the Act 4 Mission in Zombies called Bad Sigil. Once that’s done, you should be able to access Dark Aether Rifts. In this Rift, there are more zombies and the mini-bosses are much tougher, so gear up well before diving in.

After you enter the rift, look for contracts. They will be scattered throughout the map; if you’re near one, you might hear a rabbit laughing. Each contract unlocks the new schematics, so if you don’t find the Golden Armor Plate, go to the next one. When you beat the contract, you should get rewarded with either the schematic or the plate itself.

What does the Golden Armor Plate do?

This is probably the one new schematic that could save your life. Upon equipping it, your current plates will be replaced by the Golden Plates. Then, it recharges over time, making searching for new plates seemingly unnecessary. They seem to be a lot more sturdier than the normal high-level plates. If you have one, definitely consume it. However, all of the new items have long cooldown times. The Golden Armor Plate sits around for over 24 hours until you can use it again.

In other words, strategize when you want to use this. Otherwise, you’re going to have to play the waiting game.
