Put your skills to the test

South Park Snow Day is a great co-op title, especially with a group of friends. But what co-op brawler would be complete without a Horde Mode? Fortunately, we have one. Here’s how to unlock Horde Mode in South Park Snow Day.

“To Danse with Ravenous Shadows” is a free Day 1 DLC Horde Mode for Snow Day. It needs to be downloaded before you can play, but you won’t find it on the main menu.

To access Horde Mode, you’ll need to beat the second campaign stage on the War Table. Once you’ve beaten the level, return to the backyard and head toward Mr Hankey’s Portaloo.

You’ll find Henrietta standing beside it. Talk to her, and you can pick a Horde Mode stage. Only one stage is available to begin with, and others will open as you progress through the campaign.

Once you’ve chosen a stage, go to the Kupa Keep Travel Gate to start the Horde Mode.

Every round in Horde Mode is split into eight rounds of increasing difficulty. From Round 4 onwards, your opponents gain modifiers, which can dramatically change the course of battle.

You can pick upgrade cards from Jimmy and Henrietta between rounds. These card selections are random, so they won’t always benefit you. You can also upgrade cards with any TP you gather while fighting. If you survive eight rounds, you return to Kupo Keep with a healthy amount of Dark Matter to show for it.

If you want to maximize your Dark Matter gains, make sure you pick the Prince of Ravens card whenever Henrietta has it available.

Can I play Horde Mode solo in South Park: Snow Day?

You can play Horde Mode alone, and bots fill the empty spots in your squad. The only issue with playing solo is that AI teammates are stupid, and you must babysit them.

For this reason, I recommend bringing the Healing Totem as one of your Powers. The Totem is excellent for general healing and can even revive allies with the Reviving Aura Upgrade Card.

Solo Horde mode is pretty tough, but it is fine on Easy and doable on harder difficulties when you have some Dark Matter upgrades under your belt.
