How to unlock the M13C in MW2 & Warzone 2

Another new Assault Rifle? Sign me up!

The Shadow Siege event has brought a brand new Assault Rifle into Warzone 2 and MW2, along with several other rewards. The M13C is a versatile weapon that boasts a fast rate of fire and works well with a mobile play style. The issue is its unlock requirements are a little unclear. With this in mind, let me show you how to unlock the M13C in MW2 and Warzone 2.

The Shadow Siege event offers players multiple rewards for completing specific objectives. To unlock the M13C, you need to kill or assist in killing ‘5 Enemy Commanders.’ The following enemy types count as ‘Commanders’ for the event:

  • Juggernauts
  • Wheelsons
  • Armored Helicopters

These enemies won’t show up until the final part of the event beneath the observatory. This section has a timer, so make sure you get to the location fast. Once inside, visibility is poor thanks to the gas mask, but take on the Juggernauts and get stuck into combat. Juggernauts take a ton of punishment and can quickly delete you if they focus on you, so try and stick with other players if possible. If you get knocked down, and there’s nobody nearby to help you, you’ll save time if you manually respawn.

Unless you have a Rocket Launcher, I don’t recommend attacking the Armored Helicopter, as it takes forever to bring down with bullets.

The Shadow Siege event is over once your lobby has secured enough Gas Canisters, which can happen quite quickly, depending on the players. You can try communicating with your squad to get help dealing with the Juggernauts, but this task is mostly out of your control. Fortunately, you don’t need to secure the Commander kills alone, as it’s a team reward.

What loadout should I bring to the Shadow Siege event?

If you want to take your chances blowing up the Armored Helicopters, I recommend bringing a Rocket Launcher like the JOKR as your secondary. As Konni forces are relentless, weapons with large magazines make the enemy density much easier to deal with.

Juggernauts are scary no matter what weapon you use but remember you’ll be fighting in close quarters for the final part of the event. Any Assault Rifle or SMG will do, but I found the FR Avancer works wonders. Check out our guide if you’ve yet to build it. On the subject of guides, once you’ve earned your M13C, this build makes the weapon an absolute monster.
