Each season brings dramatic changes to MW2, Warzone 2, and DMZ. Whether with new maps or missions, there’s always something to log in and be excited about. The part I’m always interested in is the new weapons, and Season 5 has brought a shiny new Assault Rifle to the battlefield; the FR Avancer. Technically, the FR Avancer isn’t ‘new’ as it’s almost identical to the FFAR from previous games. Still, with the right attachments, it’s a monster. Best FR Avancer Loadout in Warzone 2 DMZ
The FR Avancer excels at mid-range thanks to its ridiculous rate of fire. This rate of fire allows us to delete enemies in a split second but also makes an extended magazine essential. There are better Assault Rifles for long-range engagements, like the ISO Hemlock. With this in mind, we focus on the FR Avancer’s strengths as a mid-range powerhouse rather than trying to compete with the long-range meta weapons.

FR Avancer Attachments
- Barrel: 435MM FR435
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Ammunition: 5.56 High Velocity
- Magazine: 60 Round Mag
- Stock: FR Sprinter
Let’s start with the Barrel. The 435MM FR435 gives us Recoil and Hip Recoil control which feel great on such a fast-firing weapon. The additional Bullet Velocity means we miss less in mid-long range, although we ideally want to close the distance in fights.
If you’ve read our other build guides, you’ll know how highly I rate the FTAC Ripper 56. It gives us Hipfire Accuracy and Recoil Stabilization and is the ‘best in slot’ attachment for those stats.Â
I don’t usually recommend specific ammunition, but the 5.56 High-Velocity rounds make it much easier to hit targets beyond our comfortable range. This ammunition makes the FR Avancer feel more ‘snappy,’ but feel free to swap it out for an Optic if you don’t notice the benefits.
The FR Avancer goes through ammunition at an absurd rate and is a real problem with the default Magazine. The 60-Round Mag mitigates this and allows us to engage multiple targets even if they have full armor. Most attachments in this build can be swapped to make the gun do different things, but the 60 Round Mag is essential.
Finally, as we’ll be duking it out with our opponents up close, the FR Sprinter gives us some much-needed mobility with a Sprint Speed and Aim Walk Speed increase. The FR Sprinter makes us harder to hit and lets us reposition quicker in gunfights.
What Equipment should I use with the FR Avancer?
The FR Avancer favors an aggressive playstyle, so I recommend Equipment that complements that. Drill Charges are superb for flushing out campers and storming buildings. Smoke Grenades are powerful in Warzone 2 and DMZ, allowing you to create cover anywhere on the map. I’ve been using Smoke Grenades more frequently in Season 5, but Stuns and Flashes are viable alternatives.
