How to use Double Tag in Balatro

Double or nothin'

Balatro has a multitude of keywords and card types that dramatically change your hand. One such term that may be confusing is Double Tag, which is a Tag variant that has some more peculiar behaviors when interacting with other Tags.

What do Tags and Double Tags do in Balatro?

In Balatro, Tags are bonuses that you receive for skipping a Blind, which will make you miss the Shop that comes after. They each have their own activation time and provide a wide range of bonuses. They also provide you with a gambit: to play the Blind and access the shop, potentially losing, or skip it for bonuses without Shop access.

Specifically, the Double Tag doubles the effect of the next Tag you choose (aside from another Double tag), regardless of the next Blind. That is essentially it. You can stack Double Tags, although their effect then adds instead of multiplying, to prevent it from being too overpowered.

This sounds simple enough, but you may want to make sure you understand exactly the Double Tag interacts with other Tags in Balatro.
