In an announcement through Twitter/X, Honkai: Star Rail players can get Dr Ratio as a free 5-Star character. HoYoverse won’t often give away 5-star characters, so don’t ignore this.
This is because Honkai: Star Rail won Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards, iPhone Game of the Year, and Best 2023 Game for Google Play.
Honkai: Star Rail players can receive the free 5-Star character Dr Ratio
This free 5-Star character is available from Version 1.6 “Panta Rhei” Character Event Warp till the end of Version 2.1. 5-Star characters can be difficult to unlock, so it’s nice to see HoYoverse giving out a free one to anyone who logs into their account during this period. Version 1.6 will launch on December 27.
Since Version 2.1 is probably a long way away, you’ll have plenty of time to receive Dr Ratio. This is a character with The Hunt path who does Imaginary damage.
It seems like the reasoning behind giving away this 5-Star character is due to Honkai: Star Rail being nominated for three awards. Not only did this game get nominated for best mobile game at The Game Awards this year, but it won! It also won best iPhone game of 2023, as well as Google Play’s best game of 2023.
How to unlock free Dr Ratio character in Honkai: Star Rail
As I already said, make sure to log into your Honkai: Star Rail account after December 27. Then you’ll want to check your mail, as HoYoverse will send this character through everyone’s mail. While Dr Ratio was introduced in Version 1.4, he won’t be available until Version 1.6.
If you’re new to Honkai: Star Rail, just make sure you’ve completed the Trailblaze Mission “The Blue — A Moment of Peace”. Finishing this quest will unlock the mail feature for you.
