Is Shadow Pinion good in Vampire Survivors?

To drill or not to drill?

If you have unlocked Shadow Pinion by buying and playing Concetta Caciotta in Vampire Survivors, then you’re probably wondering if the weapon is any good. It takes a while to unlock Shadow Pinion, but the question is: is it worth it? While it isn’t one of the new Tides of the Foscari weapons, how does it compare to other weapons in Vampire Survivors?

Vampire Survivors: Is Shadow Pinion Good?

According to multiple Reddit users and personal experience, the Shadow Pinion weapon is good but more trouble than it’s worth. Shadow Pinion is a weapon that deals around five directional drill attacks very quickly. It only shoots the second you stand still and will shoot drills in the direction you moved last. That’s how the weapon works.

Shadow Pinion is a weapon that deals insane amounts of damage. It can easily clear a large group of enemies in one shot at the beginning of a run. Although Shadow Pinion is powerful, the fact that it requires you to stop for a second does make it weaker than other weapons. Other weapons allow you to automatically take out enemies as you move. Shadow Pinion requires you to face in the right direction and pause for a second.

If you really want to master Shadow Pinion, you need to know that you can stop by using the left-click on the mouse. If you time it perfectly, you can stop on a dime with the mouse, clear out a group of enemies with Shadow Pinion, and continue moving. This is a delicate strategy that requires a lot of attention and focus which is why most people don’t like the weapon.

Vampire Survivors has a lot of great weapons to choose from, so if you don’t want to give the focus needed to use Shadow Pinion successfully, simply pick another weapon. Once you’ve found your favorite weapons, we can help you defeat the Director.
