Although Shadow Pinion is powerful, the fact that it requires you to stop for a second does make it weaker than other weapons. Other weapons allow you to automatically take out enemies as you move. Shadow Pinion requires you to face in the right direction and pause for a second.
If you really want to master Shadow Pinion, you need to know that you can stop by using the left-click on the mouse. If you time it perfectly, you can stop on a dime with the mouse, clear out a group of enemies with Shadow Pinion, and continue moving. This is a delicate strategy that requires a lot of attention and focus which is why most people don’t like the weapon.
