Is there a Mystery Box in Sker Ritual?

Move over Mystery Box, it's all about Lucky now!

Sker Ritual is unique enough to have its own identity but clearly draws inspiration from wave-based CoD Zombies. If you’re wondering how similar the titles are, let me explain and answer the question: Is there a Mystery Box in Sker Ritual?

Sker Ritual has something slightly different from the iconic Mystery Box, but it’s the same mechanic. Instead of a box, you can interact with Lucky the Dog at one of the Kennels around the map. If you find the Kennel early, it’s absolutely worth using, as the guns you’ll get are usually pretty strong.

Keep in mind that you can only hold two weapons at a time in Sker Ritual. If you already have two guns and buy a third from Lucky, you instantly lose your current weapon if you trade it.

Is there a Pack a Punch machine in Sker Ritual?

Just like the Mystery Box, there isn’t technically a Pack a Punch machine, but there’s something almost identical. There are  Super Charger machines that can upgrade your weapons. The cost is pretty steep but well worth the investment, particularly for later rounds. If you get lucky with guns early and have the cash to spare, the Super Charger can give you some breathing room for the next few rounds.

Are there any other similarities between Call of Duty Zombies and Sker Ritual?

Modern Warfare Zombies shakes up the tried-and-true Zombie formula in favor of a more open-world experience. Some players enjoy it, but many pine for the classic wave-based formula. If that sounds like you, many of Sker’s mechanics will feel comfortably familiar.

You can spend cash to open doors and increase the size of the map. You can buy weapons, and each location is full of secrets. There are stories and lore surrounding Call of Duty Zombies maps, and that’s also true in Sker, although objectives are much clearer in the latter.

Sker Ritual also has its own version of Perk Machines, and there are even random powerups like Infinite Ammo and Instant Kill. Many of your CoD Zombies skills will transfer nicely into Sker Ritual, but you will have to unlearn a few habits. For example, knifing enemies in early rounds isn’t nearly as effective in Sker as in Call of Duty.

Sker Ritual offers players a great throwback to traditional wave-based Zombie shooting and can even be enjoyed crossplay with friends on any platform.
