Life is Strange: Before the Storm Episode 3 out this month

Episode 3 of Life is Strange: Before the Storm will be released on 20 December, Deck Nine have announced today. That’s the third and final episode in the series, but the bonus ‘Farewell’ episode (part of a pre-order bonus) will be still to come.

Named ‘Hell is Empty’ the next episode will continue its prequel portrayal of the relationship between Chloe and Rachel. In this episode, Chloe will be “struggling to keep grasp of the events unravelling in front of her as we hurtle towards a dramatic conclusion.” If you’ve played the original Life is Strange, you kind of know roughly where this is going to end up, so I imagine it’s the character interactions rather than the plot driving this series.

“We’re truly humbled by the amount of love and passion the fans have shown so far. We are now nearly ready to release this last episode and excited to finally help fans shape the conclusion of this amazing story,” says Jeff Litchford of Deck Nine. Despite being written by a different team, Life is Strange: Before the Storm seems to have been well received, so no wonder Deck Nine are pleased. Taking on an established series like that is no easy feat. Dontnod, remember, are still working on a separate Life is Strange 2 project.

Here’s a trailer for Episode 3.
