I can’t tell whether Untold Games’ Loading Human is going to be good or not, but I’m really happy to see something this terrifyingly ambitious.
In case you’ve forgotten, Loading Human is the adventure game that uses the Oculus Rift and the Sixense Steam/Razer Hydra to immerse you in virtual reality. You look at things from a first-person perspective, and interact with the world in a natural way. Pretty much everything in the environment can be picked up or used naturally, rather than using an interface – if you want to take a record out of its sleeve or flip through a book, then you do that using your hands, not with a command bar.
Like I said: terrifyingly ambitious. The video below shows off some of the oh-so-pretty Unreal 4 graphics, along with some examples of the natural interactions. If this piques your interest, feel free to wander over to the Kickstarter and USE CREDIT CARD ON LOADING HUMAN.
Tim has been playing PC games for longer than he’s willing to admit. He’s written for a number of publications, but has been with PC Invasion – in all its various incarnations – for over a decade. When not writing about games, Tim can occasionally be found speedrunning terrible ones, making people angry in Dota 2, or playing something obscure and random. He’s also weirdly proud of his status as (probably) the Isle of Man’s only professional games journalist.
