Microsoft Secures Rights to Pair of Xbox 8 Names

Microsoft recently won two disputes with the National Arbitration Forum over Xbox-related domains owned by a Chinese resident known as “Cheng Juan”.

Some of the names included are XboxPhone.com, XboxTablet.com, XboxLiveTV.com, XboxCompanion.com, Xbox8.us and Xbox8.org.

Although it is understandable that Microsoft may wish to attain site names such as XboxLiveTV.com and XboxTablet.com, names such as Xbox8.org and Xbox8.us are slightly peculiar, unless of course they are just looking to protect their intellectual property.

Although Xbox 8 may seem a long way off, this isn’t actually the first time that it has appeared as a suggestion as the name for the next Xbox, following on the consoles development codename of Xbox Loop.
