No, really: Wildstar devs explain aiming

wildstar

In the latest video showing off features in their forthcoming MMO Wildstar, developers Carbine Studios explain what aiming is. Don’t worry: it’s less ridiculous than it sounds (although there’s no way I’m not mocking a video which says its goal is to explain aiming).

It’s apparently a bit of a game changer, with free-form targeting meaning that it’s easy to miss and that you’ll actually have to be careful when trying to line up abilities that pierce or do AoE damage. Even group PvE changes, as tanks have action-y ways to mitigate damage, and healers have to avoid attacks and aim their heals.

Wildstar‘s looking like it might be something a little bit interesting. Check out the video for yourself below.

Tim McDonald

Tim has been playing PC games for longer than he’s willing to admit. He’s written for a number of publications, but has been with PC Invasion – in all its various incarnations – for over a decade. When not writing things about games, Tim can occasionally be found speedrunning some really terrible ones, getting very angry at people in Dota 2, or playing basically anything that’s not a hardcore simulation or sports game. He’s also weirdly proud of his status as (probably) the Isle of Man’s only professional games journalist.
