Viking strategy Northgard gets Early Access date

Shiro Games are set to launch their Viking strategy exploration game Northgard into Steam early access next month.

The game involves players taking control of a Viking clan as they arrive in a new land. The clan will have to build their village, gather resources, and attempt to thrive while fending off threats such as dragons, giants, the undead and more.

The early access version will offer the following and more content will be added over time:

• Build settlements on the newly discovered hostile continent of Northgard while assigning and commanding Vikings to various jobs (Merchant, Farmer, Warrior, Sailor, Loremaster…)
• Manage resources carefully to survive the harsh winters and vicious enemies
• Expand and discover new territory giving unique strategic opportunities
• Achieve different victory conditions such as Conquest, Fame, Lore, Trading

Future content planned includes a multiplayer mode, campaign mode, a diplomacy system, multiple victory conditions, and new clans.

Northgard will launch on 22 February.
