Origin client adds download speed managment, FPS monitor and more

EA is kicking out a new Origin beta client and it comes with a few community requested features to enhance it.

The new client comes with download speed management via the Application Settings section where there’s now a Download Restrictions setting.  This enables the user to restrict the speed or turn off downloads in and out of game.

A new FPS monitor counter has also been added in the update. The FPS counter sits snugly in any corner of the screen you choose. This is enabled or disabled via Application Settings > Origin in-game > During Gameplay.

A feature that will be appreciated by heavy users is cross-game party invites. No longer do players have to be in the same game to invite, they can be playing anything.

All these changes are now available in the Origin Beta client and users can opt-in to test via Application Settings > Participate in Origin.

Below are a few videos of the new features in action.
