It was a case of ‘last hours’ funding, as the Descent-inspired Overload made its Kickstarter goal with just two hours left on the clock. Yesterday, when I wrote about their release of an early alpha VR build, the project still required some $70,000 USD with around 21 hours left.
Revival Productions (which features several former Descent developers) ran a non-stop livestream which, in conjunction with the release of VR and non-VR alpha builds, was enough to secure the necessary pledges to take the game over the $300,000 goal.
An appreciative post on the project’s Kickstarter page thanks everybody who helped to make this happen.
