Grinding Gear Games’ ARPG Path of Exile is going down rather well with gamers and they announce today that there are now 2 million registered players.

“We’re really pleased with Path of Exile’s reception. It blew our expectations out of the water and continues to grow every day,” said Chris Wilson, producer for Grinding Gear Games. “The continued feedback and support from our fans has been great. We expect to add a lot of new content and features during the Open Beta period as we approach full release later this year.”

The combination of regular updates to the game and ethical microtransactions are attracting more players to the game each week and it is certainly one of the finest free to play games available on the market today. GGG plan on releasing new skills and items  as often as possible to keep the game fresh for players so the numbers are a testament to the model working.
