The developers behind Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls which is set to be release later on this year have compared the Playstation 4 to PC’s from the very near future, essentially pegging the PS4 with the same expected goal the PS3 came with at launch.
“We are already seeing in the first [PS4 tests] that we’re doing a big difference, With the PlayStation 4, it’s something that really is more like the PC of next year or two years.” – Guillaume de Fondaumiere, Quantic Dream co-CEO
However despite his favorable opinion of the PS4 he does acknowledge that the system will of course have it’s limits, just as all technology does.”With the PlayStation 4, it’s something that really is more like the PC of next year or two years.
“There are limitations on the PlayStation 3 and there will be limitations on PlayStation 4.” – Guillaume de Fondaumiere, Quantic Dream co-CEO
An last but not least, he gave a little bit of insight about what to expect from Quantic Dream’s Playstation 4 project, confirming that it would again be a game that is heavily focused around the narrative, even hinting that there may be some form of multiplayer included somehow too, though I doubt it would be the typical deathmatch mode that makes its way into almost every game these days.
