Psyonix’ smash hit Rocket League will be coming to SteamOS and Mac, and there’s an offer to celebrate.

With Valve wanting to push their new hardware – like the Steam Controllers, Steam Link, and the shiny new Steam Machines – they’ve joined forces with Psyonix and created a special offer for the car-based footy game. Pre-order any of those devices and a free copy of Rocket League can be yours.

If you already own Rocket League and pre-order any of the hardware through Steam or a retailer then you’ll get another copy of the game to dish out to a mate. Alternatively, you can take advantage of a 10% off discount on the game for the next 48 hours to celebrate this hardware offer and SteamOS version news.

“User reviews, sales of Rocket League on Steam, and its surging rise among eSports enthusiasts make it clear that the game is an absolute sensation,” said DJ Powers at Valve. “In addition to being tremendously fun, our testing shows it plays brilliantly with the Steam Controller. So it was a natural decision for us to work with Psyonix and offer it to gamers free of charge when they pre-order a Steam Hardware device.”

Although it’s obviously cheaper just to buy a copy of the game itself, if that’s what you’re really after.
