Rocksteady, the original developers of the Batman: Arkham games have said that they fully trust Warner Bros. Montreal with the IP, and that are confident that they can deliver the sort of game the fans would want from the series and continue the standard of quality we have come to expect with Batman: Arkham Origins.
Many fans have already pointed to Rocksteady as the reason that the Batman: Arkham games were so great, but the director of the first two games, Sefton Hill, thinks that the reigns can be taken successfully as he told Game Informer:
“Rocksteady is excited to see WB Games Montreal developing the prequel to the Batman Arkham franchise, We are confident this talented team will craft a fantastic experience, bringing the origins of the Arkhamverse to life.” – Sefton Hill
The creative director of Batman: Arkham Origins, Eric Holmes, also expressed his view on continuing the franchise, mentioning how the time the game takes place in will allow them to things that they couldn’t have with the last two games since Batman as a character is still developing in the new game:
“It gives us the opportunity to refresh things a bit. Refresh characters, refresh ideas, refresh the dynamic between Batman and other characters, and refresh the world, too,” he said. “Batman hasn’t become the character that we know and are very familiar with.” – Eric Holmes
Batman: Arkham Origins is set to release on October 25th for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii-U and PC.
