In Sons of the Forest, you’ll have to survive not just against the hostile environment, but also the denizens lurking in the wilderness. As such, you’ll want to bring a trusty weapon with you at all times. Here’s our guide to help you make a bow in Sons of the Forest.

Sons of the Forest guide – How to make a bow
To make a bow in Sons of the Forest, you’re going to need the following items:
- Duct Tape – Several of these are found inside containers near the helicopter crash site. Duct Tape rolls are fairly easy to notice since they’re blue in color.
- 2x Sticks – You’ll find Sticks scattered on the ground. You may also equip your Axe (from the Emergency Package that you can open via your inventory) so you can start chopping down smaller trees or shrubbery. Chop them down and collect the materials by pressing the “E” key. Do note that felled trees can give anywhere from two to five Sticks.
- Rope – If you can’t find any near the helicopter crash site, your best bet is to open your inventory using the “I” key and select the GPS Tracker. This will bring up a map of the area, and you should spot an icon of a cave. Follow the river heading there and you’ll come across some tents. There should be ropes near this location (as seen in the image below).

Once you have all the materials, go ahead and open your inventory. Next, right click on the aforementioned items to place them in the center of the interface. Then, click on the gear icon to begin combining them. This will let you craft a bow in Sons of the Forest. With this, you’ll have a long-range option so you can take out targets from a distance.
