How to make mead in Valheim

These recipes are all made from mead, the hangover-inducing Viking drink of choice. For this, you’re going to need a decent supply of honey, a cauldron, and a fermenter. The easiest way to get honey is with a couple of hives. A hive is constructed with a Queen Bee, which can be found in abandoned dwellings around the map. Once you acquire the necessary equipment, it’s time to get the mead flowing.

You will first have to make a mead base in your cauldron. Place the required ingredients in the cauldron over a burning fire and remove the prepared mead base. Place this base in your fermenter and wait for two in-game days for it to be ready. Once it is prepared, you can drink to your heart’s, and liver’s, content.

  • Poison Resistance Mead – Absolutely fantastic for the Swamp Biome. Poison damage is halved for 10 minutes. Requires 10x Honey, 5x Thistle, 1x Neck Tail, and 10x Coal.
  • Frost Resistance Mead – If you’re trying to break into the Mountain Biome to get yourself a nice warm wolf pelt or find Moder’s eggs, you’ll need this warming tipple. It provides 10 minutes of frost protection and requires 10x Honey, 5x Thistle, 2x Bloodbag, and 1x Greydwarf Eye.
  • Fire Resistance Wine – Feel like the Mother of Dragons with 10 minutes of 50% fire damage resistance. This recipe demands 10x Barley and 10x Cloudberries.
  • Tasty Mead – This is less of a resistance, and more just like the effects of real mead. You receive 300% health stamina regeneration but -50% health for 10 seconds. You need 10x Honey, 10x Raspberries, and 5x Blueberries. Sounds delicious.
