WAR Grab Bag: More Server Merges?

Warhammer Online developers have released their latest ‘Grab Bag’, answering many of the popular questions from the community, and hinting at things to come.

This time, developer Jess Folsom tackles the question of Rune Priests and Zealots, and the demand for a complete re-shuffle of the Mastery trees. She states that the two careers have different ways to specialise in healing from other healers, however, there is room for change.

Jess goes on to confirm that some of the features from the AoE changes that were pulled from patch 1.3 will appear very soon. She also talks about server population and mentions the dreaded ‘merge’.

“…we are expecting to resolve our long term population issues on our lower population servers and see high populations regularly as part and parcel of server merges that are currently in discussion.”

Mythic hit the headlines in March when it closed down over 60 servers, 40 in the US and and additional 20 here in Europe. Players on those servers were forced to migrate to a selection of other existing ones. GoA spoke to us in April to state that there were no more plans to close further servers in Europe, but we’ve contacted the company again for an update on any new changes.
