Where to get Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun in Fortnite

According to the official patch notes, Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun can ” be found from the ground.” In my testing, the Raygun appears to be extremely rare as ground loot, but it does exist. I got my first one by killing a bot, so there are multiple ways to obtain your own. Much like the Cybertron Cannon, Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun can appear anywhere, but it’s much rarer than the traditional weapons.

If you can handle the heat of Mega City, Bender always spawns on the Pier. You can purchase the Raygun from Bender, but he drives a hard bargain, and it costs a hefty 600 Gold, so you won’t be doing this every match. This is the only guaranteed way to find one each game. Beware, if you shoot him, he will return fire with a Raygun of his own, and it will melt your shields.

The map changes around Mega City make the area a hot drop, so expect stiff competition if you want to visit Bender.

Is the Shiny Metal Raygun worth using?

The Shiny Metal Raygun is a devastating weapon worthy of its Mythic Rarity. The Raygun has infinite ammo but can overheat if you hold the trigger down for too long. The weapon fires a laser beam that quickly deals absurd amounts of damage to anything it hits. The only downside is you need to be very accurate. If your aim is all over the place, this precision beam weapon isn’t all that great.

Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun excels at mid-long range, where you can easily track your opponent’s movements. The weapon will still lose close-range fights against SMGs and Shotguns, and the unvaulted Lever Action Shotgun makes it dangerous to take point-blank fights. Fortnite is always changing and constantly throwing new quests at players. If you’re struggling with the Purradice Meowscles questline, check out our guide on how to flip a car.
