Kingtusk Weaknesses
Every Kemono in Wild Hearts has a bunch of different strengths and weaknesses, and the Kingtusk’s attribute effectiveness and statistics are:
- Attribute: Wood.
- Ailment weakness: Fatigue, Entangle, Ablaze, Frozen.
- Ailment resistance: Poison.
- Attribute weakness: Fire.
- Attribute resistances: Wood and water
- Soft parts: Head.
- Physical attack effectiveness: Lunge and slash.
Soft parts refer to the body part of the Kemono which is the weakest, if you’re unfamiliar with the term.

Kingtusk boss guide
The Kingtusk boss is a heavy-hitter when it comes to its attacks. Every attack from the Kingtusk deals massive damage and can almost kill you in one hit. This means you need to be patient with the Kingtusk to claim victory easily. Acting rash during this encounter can get you killed very easily, as this boss can be a bit of a pain if you approach the fight incorrectly. Luckily, if you’re in the late-game and need to practice this fight, you can go fight the early-game Chapter 1 version of this boss to get some rounds in and see which weapon and tactic work best for you.
Taking advantage of the Kingtusk boss’ weaknesses
Before approaching this fight, you should consider the Kingtusk boss’ weaknesses. As mentioned, its attribute is Wood. This means its elemental weakness is to fire, and it resists the wood and water attributes. You should also try and use weapons that will inflict the Fatigue, Entangle, Ablaze, or Frozen ailments. These ailments are the Kingtusk boss’ weaknesses. You should stay away from using weapons that inflict Poison however, because it resists this ailment type. You should also make sure to aim for the head, as that is the weakest part of its body.
Kingtusk’s physical attack
The biggest and most dangerous move the Kingtusk has is its body slam attack. The tell for this attack is the Kingtusk standing on its hind legs and then slamming down on top of you after a deceptively long charging time. This attack is deadly, and can be a bit unpredictable due to the sheer amount of time it takes to actually slam down on top of you, but it is avoidable.
If you just keep moving and sprinting while sliding as soon as you see it start to drop, you should be fine. Because this attack tracks you, your best approach is to dodge through the legs of the Kingtusk. You can avoid it by sliding to the sides as well. But this is relatively difficult compared to just sliding through the Kingtusk.
There is also another Kingtusk attack that you can avoid by dodging underneath, and that is the double spin attack. This attack is premeditated by a swift jump before leaping into two consecutive spinning attacks against you. This attack can be dodged by rolling underneath the Kingtusk, or by keeping your distance.
Many of its physical attacks outside of those however are dodgeable by simply moving away before they hit you. This might sound scary at first, but every attack has a tell. And if you can pay attention to see which attack comes next, or just keep a fair distance, you should be fine.

Rock-launching attack
Another attack you need to remember is the rock-launching attack. This attack’s tell is that the Kingtusk boss puts its tusks into the ground before hurling rocks at you. The attack can be dodged easily by moving to the sides.
Charging attacks
One unique move it has is the charging attacks, these can also be devastating to you. It has a very obvious tell again, with it winding up its feet before starting to charge. This attack however, we recommend that you actually use the Bulwark Fusion Karakuri here. You can make this Fusion Karakuri by assembling six of the crate Karakuri together side by side, and this stops the charge attacks. Not only does this stop them, it also knocks the Kingtusk boss over, giving you an opportunity to attack it.
Wild Hearts – Kingtusk boss: Enraged mode guide
The Kingtusk boss also has root attacks while in normal state, but these are easily avoidable. In its enraged state, it has a couple extra root-based moves. These root attacks deal massive damage and you can avoid them by either using a spring Karakuri, or by dodging relatively quickly. Spring Karakuri is recommended however, because these can be used again after the fact for more dodging. Effecting placing them is always a good strategy.
As long as you remember these tips for encountering the Kingtusk boss in Wild Hearts, along with the weaknesses mentioned above, you should have an easier time defeating this monster.
