IncGamers Poll – Can Metal Gear still thrive after Kojima?

The split between Konami and Kojima Productions now seems pretty much confirmed (unless this is all a very elaborate ruse,) so this week’s IncGamers Poll is about the future of the Metal Gear series.

Initial rumours about Kojima’s departure started surfacing earlier in the week, accompanied by troubling signs like all of the Kojima Productions branding being removed from Metal Gear box art on Konami’s sites. The publisher has yet to clarify what exactly happened, saying only that Kojima and his team will continue to work on (and complete) Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Beyond that release, Konami’s stated intention is to continue to make Metal Gear games with a new team. We want to know whether readers feel the series can continue to thrive, post-Kojima.

The poll, available below or on the right-hand side bar, offers three options spanning the optimism-pessimism spectrum. I’ve also thrown in the chance to say this is all just a gigantic Kojima trolling effort. I mean, you never know, right?

Let us know what you think, and we’ll summarise the poll results in a separate news post on Friday 27 March. Last week’s poll discovered that a majority of readers felt EA’s FIFA 15 Ultimate Team transfer changes have messed up the game.
