21. Final Fantasy XV (Rumored)

Final Fantasy XV is a big departure from previous games, providing a darker setting that focuses on more realistic human characters than previous entries. The game features an open-world environment and action-based battle system similar to the Kingdom Hearts series and Type-0, incorporating the ability to switch weapons and other elements such as vehicle travel and camping. FFXV looks gorgeous and is shaping up nicely; stay tuned for release info.

 

22. The Division

Tom Clancy’s The Division is an upcoming open-world, third-person shooter with RPG and survival elements included. In the game, a disease spreads and causes the United States Government to collapse. Basic services fail one by one, and without access to food or water, the country quickly descends into complete chaos. The game is suppose to hit stores this year but we’re still waiting on a concrete release date.

 

23. Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V is in development by Capcom for the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows. It features the same 3D gameplay from Street Fighter IV, and game is set to be released in early 2016. The game will be based on Unreal Engine 4 and will feature cross-platform gameplay. Capcom will offer a beta program for players in North America that preorder the game at a date to be determined.

 

24. Call of Duty: Black Ops III

The critically acclaimed Call of Duty series is getting yet another sequel this year, but much like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, this game has got some nuance to it. Black Ops III sticks with the futuristic warfare like its predecessors; while adding a bunch of new gameplay mechanics, including wall-running! CoD: Black Ops III launches Nov. 6th.

 

25. SOMA

SOMA is a sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games, creators of the groundbreaking Amnesia and Penumbra series, and hits PC and PS4 in 2015. The radio has gone silent on PATHOS-2. As isolation bears down on the staff of the remote research facility, strange things are happening.  Machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine. The world around them is turning into a nightmare.  The only way out is to do unimaginable things.

 

26. Star Wars: Battlefront

A decade later we’re finally getting a Star Wars: Battlefront sequel, and things are looking great! This multiplayer (only) game lets us battle in out on various Star Wars planets (Endor, Hoth, Tatooine and Sullust) in first-person or third-person! You’re also able to customize your character, load-outs, gear, and weapons. Although were restricted to only playing online, the game looks to be pretty meaty, it’s launching with twelve maps! Battlefront is launching Nov. 17th. Until then, May The Force be with you.

 

27. Dead Island 2

As the fourth installment in the Dead Island series, Dead Island 2 is a sequel to keep your eye on. The game’s main storyline is set several months after the events of Dead Island and Escape From Dead Island. Unlike its predecessors, which all took place on ‘islands’, Dead Island 2 takes place in various locations in California. The game’s combat has different mechanics than previous dead Island titles, being much more brutal and featuring deadlier, but more fragile zombies. The game is set to release next year.

 

28. Torment: Tides of Numenera

Torment: Tides of Numenera is an upcoming role-playing video game, currently in development by inXile Entertainment. It is a spiritual successor of the critically acclaimed 1999 game Planescape: Torment.  The game will take place in Numenera, a fantasy campaign setting authored by Monte Cook. Like its predecessor, Tides of Numenera will be primarily story-driven, giving greater emphasis on interaction with the world and characters, with combat and item accumulation taking a secondary role. It’s set to release Q4 of this year.

 

29. Mad Max

Mad Max is an upcoming post-apocalyptic vehicle combat video game set in an open-world environment and based on the Mad Max film series. It is being developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is scheduled to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this September.

 

30. Fallout 4

Finally, Bethesda recently confirmed that Fallout 4 will be making its way to PC, XBO, and PS4. The game was announced with an epic trailer that’s sprawls across a broken-down Boston city. This title seems to feature a new dog companion that sticks by your side throughout your adventuring. Fallout 4 is also equipped with a lush presentation and what seems to be (thus far) an intriguing story.
