Vanguard class shield-bashes its way to Nosgoth

The human faction of free-to-play vamp-’em-up Nosgoth has a new ally today, in the form of the Vanguard class.

The gladiator-looking Vanguard focuses on both a gigantic shield and powerful throwing weapons, letting him dish out damage and range while survive vampiric assaults up close. Other than a variety of axes – ranging from those that can be thrown quickly, to those splitting in two and those that cause enemies to bleed – he can perform bashes and charges with his shield, and call upon Judgment or a Rousing Cry to either finish off low-health enemies or empower nearby allies.

The Vanguard is the second new class for Nosgoth since the game entered open beta, and I rather doubt it’ll be the last. It’s available to play today, and you can see some screens of the shield-bearing chap in action below.
