MGSV: Ground Zeroes “looks slightly better on PS4 than Xbox One” – Kojima

According to Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, Ground Zeroes “looks slightly better on PS4 than Xbox One”. Recently, Game Informer were lucky enough to have a hands on play test of the upcoming game and noticed that the PS4 version looked a little better than the Xbox One version. Hideo Kojima apparently then confirmed this feeling when he said that the PS4 graphics were slightly better than the Xbox One’s.

Game Informer were impressed by the graphics regardless and stated that “Kojima Productions’ hard work under the hood pays off in the graphics department,”. They went on to praise the Fox engines impressive lighting and said that the environmental destruction was excellent when they fired an RPG at a watchtower.

At this moment in time it’s unclear whether one version has a lower native resolution to the other and a Konami representative has told VideoGamer.com that they are unable to confirm either the native resolutions or the frame rates of each version.

This news may frustrate Microsoft as we’ve already seen that titles such as Tomb Raider, Battlefield 4 and COD: Ghosts performed better on the PS4. It should be kept in mind though that both HIdeo Kojima and Game Informer have only said there was a “Slight” Difference between the two consoles so Xbox One gamers shouldn’t get too upset.

Ground Zeroes is due for release on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 18th in the US and March 20th in Japan and Europe. The game will be followed shortly by Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
