Anticipation was high for the game, as one of the new original IPs coming from Japan. As it stands, Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn is the closest next equivalent, although people can already play it on PC and PS3. Following delays of Driveclub and Watch Dogs, which also tout online features Japanese PS4 fans have that less reason to get the console at the onset.

The news comes from a series of interviews by Dengeki Online regarding the imminent PS4 launch. Sugiura explains that they are working on raising the game’s graphics to a level that would not have been possible on Playstation 3. Interestingly enough, in the same interviews, many developers answered a question about games by other companies, many expressed interest in Watch Dogs as well.
