Rock, Paper, Shotgun: EA Defends The Terrible Launch Of Battlefield 4 And SimCity

Writing for Rock, Paper, Shotgun, Nathan Grayson publishes an interview he had when he recently attended the D.I.C.E summit in Las Vegas. Whilst there, he happened to encounter EA chief creative officer Rich Hilleman. Although the encounter was brief, Grayson did manage to have a few words with Hilleman regarding the botched launch of Battlefield 4 and SimCity.
The result was that Hilleman promised things would change (vaguely) but generally didn’t inspire much confidence in Grayson as to the improvement of EA and its games. After reading the interview I can only agree with Grayson’s opinion that Hilleman’s answers were quite lacking. EA has won Consumerist’s Worst Company in America award for two years running now and although they claim they never want to “win” it again, they don’t seem to be doing much about it. The interview is very interesting, especially for Battlefield 4 and SimCity fans.
