Hideo Kojima has said that he will show “what fox engine can do” on August 30th at the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary event. When speaking with Playstation Blog, Kojima said that although the engine is not actually complete, the only way to continue development of the engine is to begin making a game on it, which in turn will help along the development of the engine.

Kojima said that:

“The Fox Engine is nearly finished, but the only way to be sure it works is to create a game at the same time and improve the engine with our tools as we go along,” Kojima told the PlayStation Blog. “Originally we were going to do this for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, but a lot happened along the way and instead it is being made with the engine they have at Platinum Games.

“Production studios in Japan are nearly extinct, a fact that we have recognized for nearly 10 years, and although the Fox Engine is not finished we are ready to show what it can do… on August 30th in Japan to be more specific.”

With three known games currently in development, Project Ogre, Metal Gear Solid 5 and Enders Project, any of these three could take the stage as the demonstration of the Fox Engine. However until August 30th it is going to be anybody’s guess which game will be used, and it could always be an entirely new project all together.
