Wuthering Waves developer accidentally leaks emails of players who applied for JP weapon gacha compensation

Not a good look.

There are expected blunders with any game’s launch, but this may be one of the roughest tumbles yet. Wuthering Waves players who have applied for JP weapon gacha compensation have had their emails accidentally leaked by the devs.

Emails accidentally leaked of WuWa players who applied for gacha compensation

There was a significant translation problem for Japanese players who rolled for Jiyan’s signature weapon and thought it was much stronger than it actually was. This led to Kuro Game Studios allowing these JP players to apply for gacha compensation, but these same Wuthering Waves players have now accidentally had their emails leaked by the devs.

This issue happened because Kuro Fames accidentally mass-replied to all the players applying for gacha compensation without BCC, which would’ve hidden all the other emails. It’s understandable to make mistakes in times when you’re rushing to get players compensation for a mistranslation that caused some players to spend real money, but this is definitely not going to make the Japanese player base happy.

The replies on this Reddit post just show how confused everyone is about how Kuro Games made such a huge mistake after already making players upset for a mistranslation. Some are wondering what’s going on at Kuro Games HQ right now, while others are hoping that the developer doesn’t make any more fumbles.

I’m unsure of how the Japanese player base is reacting right now, but I’m assuming they’re not happy. Data leaks are no joke, and many players are wondering if this accident is infringing on any laws in Japan that could put Kuro Games under fire.

We’ll have to wait and see how Kuro Games responds and whether the next rounds of compensation will be enough to calm the unrest. I wouldn’t be surprised if not just JP players, but all players receive something like another instant 5-star selector.
