Resident Evil 2 Remake Costumes

Resident Evil 2 Remake Brings Back Classic Costumes

There are many reasons why Resident Evil 2 received the remaster treatment. And, if you’ve been following the game, it is much more than buff and a shine to the game’s visuals. Almost the entire game was recreated from the ground up. It’s no surprise, though, there are some things that you cannot exclude from one of the most iconic games in Resident Evil history. And with that, Capcom will bring classic costumes for the characters back into the mix.

Deadly Duds

For those who remember playing the original, Resident Evil 2 gave you the option to play as either Leon S. Kennedy or Claire Redfield. When playing as each of the different characters, there are mainline story events that occur at different times. But, one thing that might stand out more than the events of the game comes in the form of their attire.

It’s almost impossible to not think about Leon’s R.P.D. jacket, as the third-person view places it right in front of the screen the entire time. The remake identifies this as Leon’s “Classic Police Costume”. Claire, on the other hand, once again dons her biker-esque maroon jacket. Capcom identifies this as her “Classic Jacket Costume”.

The Price Of Vanity

It is unclear at this point if either of the two costume packs will come with a price tag attached. For many current games, even if simple cosmetic items are added, they usually come with an exchange for in-game currency or even real life monies. The trailer notes that they will be “In-Game Unlockable” costumes, but that doesn’t deliver any clarification if that means unlockable through a paygate.

The Resident Evil 2 remake is expected to release on January 25, 2019. The game will launch on the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. A deluxe edition for the game is also available for pre-order, boasting even more additional costume sets and the original soundtrack.
